Vocal Arts Day 2010

Here’s ALL the information I have.  I haven’t received any mail or email concerning this whole thing.  Last year, I received a schedule.  At any rate, here’s the link to the letter I received at the beginning.  Registration is set for 8:45 a.m. at Rackham Auditorium (directions here).  I’ve sent a couple of messages out to the coordinators but haven’t heard from them still.  I’ll update here if more information comes in.  Concert is at 4:00 p.m. and is free for parents.  Keep checking back every now and then.

UPDATE: I have had a response from the coordinators!  The schedules for the men are slightly different than the women.  Download the right schedule for you!  In addition, they sent me a map of the campus.  Men’s schedule.  Women’s schedule.

Let me know tomorrow if there are any problems however, it turns out that this may be a very difficult weekend for my wife and her family so please contact me only if necessary.

Sing well!

Coffee Concert and Invitational Updates

The Coffee Concert date has been finalized. We were bumped by the Junior Craft Show. The concert is set for Halloween morning, October 31st in the SCHS Cafeteria at 10:30 a.m. We’ll need parent help in both preparing and setting up refreshments for the concert. The Senior class is responsible for both set-up and take-down of the concert. Concert dress: Choir shirts and blue jeans. The cost for the shirts is $18. Please make checks out to “Swartz Creek Choirs”. A letter should be coming home on Tuesday with all the information. If it is not delivered by your student, you can download it here.

The Annual University of Michigan-Flint Chamber Choir Invitational (long title, huh?) is set for Monday, October 19th. The Madrigals will be gone all day and will perform in the evening at Court Street United Methodist Church in downtown Flint. The concert is at 7:30 p.m. Students should bring money for both lunch and dinner. Again, students should deliver a permission slip to you tomorrow, but if not you can download it here.

This year has been busy so far! The Madrigal’s queue for Christmas performances is filling up rapidly. If you want us to perform for your event, please use this form to contact me. Thanks!

The Wedding

UPDATE: Apparently the Google map points to restaurant row just behind the Speedway. Make sure you turn right on Ballenger Highway. The church is on your right. It has a multi-colored lighted sign out front. If you go under I-69, you’ve gone too far.

  • Place – Unitarian Universalist Church
  • Call Time – 2:00 p.m. (not 2:01 p.m.)
  • Dress – Semi-formal attire (dress, tie, jackets, etc)
  • Performance – 3:00 p.m.
  • Don’t forget your folders!

Links to directions:

Call me if you have trouble and don’t forget to look here tomorrow in case I have last minute issues or news.

Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow

Well, we’re just about done here. Graduation was last night and went fairly well (except for the booing during the band’s performance). Seniors, don’t forget to turn in folders, tuxedos, and dresses before you head out into the great unknown. The 7th and 8th grade “Informance” is tonight at 6:00 pm. Last chance for extra credit before I have to finish my grades. To all my students, you did an excellent job this year. You can be very proud of what you all were able to do. Have a terrific summer!
